Brampton rapper making spaces where there aren’t any
For Mongrel Media’s 25th anniversary, Willendorf ideated a theme that saluted 90s hip hop culture - taking inspiration from the year of Mongrel Media’s inception: 1994. Taking a cue from Mongrel Media’s mandate to support independent filmmakers and artful films, we brought local MC Noyz to perform with Brown Magician with local singing talent Zaki Ibrahim opening for him. His electrifying performance created no division between his stage and the audience, running onto different heritage sculptures with the energy and musical flow that had all guests on their toes. The performance highlighted how thoughtful programming and collaborative spaces can influence the experience of any cultural gathering.
